Happy Friday everyone!
Hope everyone has had a good week! Izzy and I had a pretty good morning and early afternoon. I had a monster headache all afternoon and pretty much slept the evening away. But in the morning, we slept in a little bit, got around and got bathed then we went out to lunch with Jason!!! It was so much fun! Of course we went to California Pizza Kitchen seeing as how that is Jason's favorite place and right across from his work. I have been assured though that he is pizza'd out, but we will just see! LOL! Then we headed off to Michaels to use my coupon. I can't believe all the new stuff they have. I was like a kid in a candy store! It was so, so much fun! Of course then I laid down the rest of the afternoon, but my sweet little Izzy was so good to me and pretty much took her nap and played by herself so mommy could rest! What a good girl!
Well, onto what you have been waiting for!!! A sneak peek of the new Wild Things Set being released this Sunday by The Greeting Farm!! I am so, so excited. This new stamp set along with a new Anya, Geisha Anya in rubber and two new digital stamps will be released on Sunday at noon after our Guess that Anya Blog Hop so don't miss it!
So, when I first saw this little set of wild things I fell in love with the lion! I just couldn't help myself, his mane is so fun and whimsical and I love how the tufts of hair pointed out. Of course this reminded me of sunflowers, and for some reason that made me think of pinwheels! (I am just trying to explain my reasoning so that you don't' think my project is crazy! LOL!) So that is how I arrived at pinwheels. These little Anya and Ians fit perfectly in the center of my pinwheels and I loved the idea of making them for a kids party! Here we go!!!
Pinwheels
Lion
Bunny
Chicken
Bear
Monkey
Aren't they the cutest!!! How can you not fall in love with that lion! The set also comes with great sentiments to pair up with your creations! I started this project by stamping all five of my little wild things from Wild Things by The Greeting Farm on white card stock, colored them in with my markers and then cut them out with my nesties. I mounted them on yellow and brown card stock that I also cut out with my nesties. To create my pinwheels, I cut out squares of Heidi Grace Designs DP in 5 X 5 in. squares and followed the directions found here. Basically you cut diagonally toward the center about half way on all four corners. Then punch a hole in each corner on the left side and one in the center of your square. Grab a pencil and a thumb tack and stick the thumb tack through the holes, pulling the corners toward the center, and then placing the thumbtack through your center hole and into your pencil eraser. NOTE: If you feel that a thumbtack is too dangerous for the kiddos, simply use a brad, bunch a hole in a straw and thread it through the straw. To finish my project, I simply glued on my wild things to the center! I just love how they look like sunflowers!
Now it is time to check out the other awesome projects the DT has in store for you! Believe me, you don't want to miss them!
Well, my parents and my nieces are coming into town later today to spend the weekend with us so I guess I should go pick up the house! LOL! Have a great Friday and thanks as always for stopping by! Smiles!
