Happy Tuesday everyone!!!
Izzy and I had the best day yesterday! Melaina was over and the girls played and played! It was so cute! Poor Izzy wasn't feeling well though, so she was having a few problems sharing, but as the day progressed they became more and more used to each other. I think Melaina might come over every week! YAY!!!! I am so excited. It is funny, but I am actually able to get more done during the day because the girls keep each other entertained. It was so cute. I had them up on the table while I was coloring yesterday and they took turns handing me markers. Izzy already knows she cannot take the caps off and Melaina learned pretty quickly too so, it was really enjoyable. We talked about colors and did a lot of poking tummys with them. They loved it! I am so excited because I think I might have future stampers on my hands! LOL!
Well since it is Tuesday, that means it is Twinkling Tuesday! Even my husband knows. He sent me an e-mail last week asking me what I wanted him to make for dinner and he titled it "Twinkling Tuesday". Ahh, he is trained so well! LOL! Well, this Tuesday is a little bit different this week. Madelynn has decided to have guest sketch designers to help out with her challenges, and this week the "Temporary Twinklette" as we are calling them is none other than my good friend Heather's 6 year old daughter Piper!!! She really made up a fun sketch for us this week! Lots of elements and lots of hearts just in time for Valentine's day.
Isn't it fun! I have to say, I was a little worried at first but I made it and I was able to get all the elements in! I started this card by stamping Tilda With Hearts by Magnolia Stamps on white card stock and colored her in using my copics. I then added touches of white gel pen to create highlights on the different hearts. Following the sketch, I layered on brown and pink card stock, some of which I embossed with my swiss dots folder and my floral fantasy folder, and papers from Basic Grey's Bittersweet collection. I then wrapped a brown and pink striped ribbon around the middle and added lots of brown and pink hearts I cut out with my Cricut and a Martha Stewart punch. Tilda and the tiny hearts I popped off to finish the card. I think I might send this to Piper since she created such an awesome sketch! Don't worry though Heather, I promise to add a nose and a mouth! LOL!
Hey, don't worry, you can play along with Piper's sketch too! All you need to do is when uploading to PCP or SCS is attach the keyword MTTSC9 and also leave a little love out on the Twinkling Tuesday Team blog so that we know that you used Piper's sketch. Now, check out the rest of the design team's awesome creations!
I have another quick little card to share before you leave. I just received my new Sophia stamp from Paper Pretties. This little beauty is January's Stamp of the Month. I so love this program. It is relatively inexpensive and every month I am guaranteed an awesome stamp in the mail! Love it! So, I digress. I wanted to create a winter card, since it was so chilly last week and when I saw this card by my good friend Jessica, I just had to case it!
I just had to use this paper again! I love the pinks and greens and blues! Sorry the picture is a little wonky, the sky was turning weird shades when I hurried outside to take this picture, it was about to storm. Anywhoo, I really wanted to try the distressing technique that Jessica uses, and I think I did okay. Of course I have a long way to go before I reach Jessica's level of talent! I started this card by stamping Gliding By by Paper Pretties on white card stock and colored her in using my copics. I added some snow drifts with my copic multiliner pen and my copics and then made it shimmer along with her ice trail using my glitter pen. I also flocked her ear muffs and her little hand muff using some white flocking and a glue pen. Next, I stamped the sentiment on white card stock and cut it out along with a piece of blue paper using my nesties. I then layered on blue and green card stock along with two different kinds of DP (sorry can't remember the brand). I distressed everything with a sponge and some creamy caramel ink. To complete the look, I added three green brads down the side and tied a delish green satin ribbon through my sentiment and added some rhinestones! I really think this worked out pretty well as a casing of Jess' card. I hope she thinks so too!
Well that is it for me! Off to check out the rest of the Twinkling Team! I really hope you play along! And don't forget my Pink Cat Challenge ends today over at PCP so make sure you get your entry in! Thanks as always for stopping by! Smiles!!
