Happy Tuesday everyone!
I know it has been almost a week since I last posted, I am so sorry. Not only have I been neglecting my blogging duties, but I have also not been posting and visiting all of my wonderful blogging friends. Please forgive me. I had some sort of mild stomach virus last week and was so exhausted that I wasn't even able to stamp. Sunday was the first time I inked up something in almost a week. But boy did it feel good to get back into the swing of things. I actually completed six cards yesterday. Most of them I can't share yet, but boy was it nice to put ink to paper again!!!
Enough about me, onto Izzy!!! She had such a wonderful visit with my parents. She really missed my dad when he left. She actually keeps asking where he is, it is so cute!!! She is still loving her little kitchen set and actually made me dinner last night while I was taking pictures. It surprises me all the time how much she picks up on things. It is truly amazing. Oh and she is really jealous of Tuxy now. She absolutely does not want him to have anything of hers and does not want to share with him. It is kind of nice for me, because we can practice sharing, without having to have playdates all the time. I always knew there was a reason why I had a dog! lol!
Well, today is Tuesday and you know what that means!!! It is Twinkle Tuesday! Madelynn has created an awesome sketch again this week and so have all the Twinkling Girls!! I can't believe all the talent there is on this team. Of course, we would love to see how you used your awesome talents with this sketch also. All you need to do is when you upload you card to PCP or SCS to use the keyword, MTTSC4, so that we can see your beautiful creations all in one place!
Isn't this another great sketch!!! I really love the versatility of it! And I got to use my new set from Hanna Stamps!!! It just came in last week! It is so cute!! I can't wait to use it some more. I know a certain little girl, my niece Kelsey, who will be having a sleepover party coming up!! I wonder what her invitations will look like? lol! Okay so I started this card by stamping the long john girl from Slumber Party Hanna by Hanna Stamps on white card stock and colored her in using my copics and markers. I then mounted her on a piece of lavender and orange card stock. Following the sketch, I layered on DP, orange and purple card stock along with two pieces of green stitched ribbon. I angled the image and instead of the circle, I decided to stamp the throw pillows from the set and then punched out a "pillow" using my labels die from spellbinders. I stamped the sentiment in the middle and colored around the edge! Isn't it fun! I love this DP!
Well, be sure to check out all the rest of the DT's creations to see what they have created!

Okay, so the other thing I have really been trying to do is catch up on all my sketch challenges. You know how I love a sketch. Well, as hard as it was for me, I had to skip some because there just isn't enough time to complete them all. This sketch though was one I just couldn't put aside. This was the last Friday in December's Taylored Expression's Cupcake Challenge. The Button in the sketch just spoke to me and I couldn't resist giving it a try!
I guess I am into orange right now. I keep reaching for it. It is so weird because I usually can't stand orange, but it seems like that is the only color I am creating with right now. Anywhoo, I started this card by stamping the boy and girl from Will You Be My Valentine by SUInk and More (don't forget this set is now available for purchase!) on white card stock and colored it in using my markers and copics. I cut them out and mounted them on red and orange card stock. Following the sketch, I layered on two kinds of DP and added an orange ribbon with a large flower button. I completed the card by stamping the sentiment, mounting it on red card stock and adding three red brads down the side. Jason really loved this card when I showed it to him. I think he liked the simple design of the card.
Well, that is it for me today. Thanks for hanging in there with me over the past week. I apologize again for being such a bad blogger. I feel better now though and am slowly getting back in the game!
Love all your cards which is no surprise. I too would like to do more sketches and am trying to figure out how to work them in and which ones. KWIM?
ReplyDeleteWhat a yucky thing to go through! I hope you're feeling a wee bit better now....well, you must be if you are stamping! Love, love, love the cards Janna! You especially did a great job on the Hanna card. You know, the colors you used on Hanna would look AMAZING on some black halloween paper too! They would just pop right off the card! (Just an idea that popped into my head! :D Hope you don't mind.)
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better! I was starting to worry about you.

ReplyDeleteHi Janna!
ReplyDeleteRead all your lovely comments last night on my blog. We had the stomach flu go thru here the week of Christmas and it was not much fun at all!!!
Some times I think we just need a break from Stamping too! Not sure why because we love it so much, but it does seem like a break once in awhile is helpful!!! Then we miss it terribly after a few days!!!
I love love love your coloring on that Hanna Card it is just wonderful Janna! It does look like it pops off the card like Danni said!!! Totally rocking Sketch you did I love it!
