I hope you are having a great week so far! Izzy and I painted on the bedroom yesterday and my friend Tracy came over and we hung out all day! It was so nice to just sit back and relax! Izzy loves Tracy and was so sad when she had to leave. I swear she looks forward to seeing Tracy more than she does seeing Jason and I! LOL!
Oh and Izzy has a new phrase that she has been saying all the time. Every once in a while I will ask her a question and she will say, "Uhhhhh, What's the word? Uhhhhh!" OMgoodness it is so cute! I guess I must say that quite a bit! Whoopsee!!!!!
Well today is Wednesday and that means it is Watchadoin' Wednesday time! This week's challenge is perfect for Father's Day!
Let’s celebrate those men/boys in our lives. Father’s day is close but that is not
the only time we need to celebrate the boys--you can make a Father’s Day card
or any other masculine type of card you wish. This week it is all about the
BOYS!
Perfect timing right? Well this card started out using last week's sketch challenge over at SCS. I originally wanted to do different neck ties with the stripes but then as I was trying to figure out how to make it work, I decided to make a shirt instead with a monogram! And here is the final result!
I wish that I could have added some more dimension but oh well! I started this card by first following the sketch on SCS layering blue and yellow card stock, along with DP from Pinecone Press. I added a collar, pocket and sleeves and completed the look with buttons. The monogram was made with the "D" from Thinking of Father by Storage Units, Ink and More. For the inside of the card, I stamped another one of the sentiments along with some ties I colored in with my copics. I hope Jason likes it! He has to wear a button up shirt to work everyday (thankfully no ties) so it reminded me of him!
Now it is time to check out the rest of the DT's awesome creations. And we would love to have you play along this week! Simply type in the keyword SUINKWWC44 when uploading to SCS or PCP.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Smiles!
Very clever and creative card! Nice job!
ReplyDeleteOMG Janna, this is AWESOME!!! How super creative. Great Job!
ReplyDeleteOh, and speaking of Pink Cat Studio stamps...LOL...do you need my address?
My fav dad story...he writes me emails and signs them Love Dad. This is strange only because most of my friend's dads do not even know how to use a computer!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute!! I love the design! So perfect for Father's Day!!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cathy
This is such a great card Janna! I love how you made it a big shirt and finished it off on the inside. TFS!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous card Janna.

Awesome card. MY favourite Dad story has to do with my high school prom dress. I chose black (long before ANYONE dared to wear black at a prom at my high school) and had an "argument" with my Mom about it (but still got the dress). When we got home, my Dad totally supported my choice, telling me it looked great and that my Mom shouldn't be so silly. It was just a dress after all!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute shirt card!! My favorite dad story is my father going out to pick up a pizza with his white tube socks pulled up his calf and his slippers on!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute shirt card. I remember going through my dads ties in high school and just having a good laugh at all the colors and patterns from the 70's.
ReplyDeleteI just remember my dad taking us to the beach every weekend and tryingto teach us to surf. Cute card!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute card Janna!!! I love your shirt! The colors are beautiful and it has so many wonderful details. My favorite Dad story is remembering the times when I came home from college. I went to college 13 hours from home so my visits were sparse. Each time I cam home for a break, my Dad would take me out for coffee, just the two of us without my mom or siblings. It was a special time for just the two of us. I also remember when I was really sick in my last year of highschool that he went out and bought me earrings. So unlike my Dad, I to this day help with his shopping for my Mom. He does not shop. Such a special gift that I still treasure.
ReplyDeleteHope all is well! Glad you had a good visit with Tracy. Lay low days with friends are special.
hugs,
Chris
My favorite Dad story...short & sweet...my 3 yo DD one day caught daddy coming out of the shower because she had to pee... when he helped her up onto the potty his towel fell off... her eyes grew WIDE... "Daddy....I think you have a tail!"
ReplyDeleteOMGosh...I'll never forget that one.
Thanks for the chance to win this set!
