Happy Wednesday everyone!
I am really hoping that today will be a little nicer temperature wise than yesterday was. Oh my goodness it was cold. I could barely take my pictures, because my hands were frozen solid. Luckily one of each of the projects I am sharing today came out okay, because I was not going outside to take another picture! LOL!
Jason, Izzy and I went out to dinner last night. It was a lot of fun. Izzy had mac and cheese for the first time. I guess we have never made it for her. She of course loved it and ate it all up. Then we went to Archivers. The restaurant and Archiver's are in the same mall so we luckily didn't have to walk outside again. Izzy was so cute, she held my hand the whole way and at times would even take a little hop in her step! Once I got to Archivers, Jason walked her around and he said she was so excited she was almost running! What a goof! Then we went through Cabella's to get to our car, so of course we had to look at the fish. She really enjoyed that until we got to the tank with the really big catfish. I think they scared her because she immediately started saying, "Bye, bye fishes. Bye, bye fishes." All in all it was a wonderful evening.
Alright, since it is Wednesday, you know what that means!!! It is Watchadoin' Wednesday over at Storage Units, Ink and More. This week is an awesome challenge, we actually have a sketch for you!!!! Can you tell I am excited, you know me and my sketches! LOL! When I saw this sketch, I told myself that I wanted to created something elegant. So of course I grabbed the new wedding set from SUInk. But I immediately put it down because I really wanted to challenge myself further and try to use my stamps in an unusual way. So here is what I came up with!
Hope you like it! I used this week's color challenge over at SCS for the color scheme. The challenge was creamy caramel, cameo coral, and old olive. I started out my card by cutting out a piece of green olive Core'dinations card stock for my card base. I then placed my scalloped nestie in the center and ran it through my CB machine. I stopped in the middle of my nestie and backed it up, because I didn't want it to cut out the full circle. Then following the sketch, I layered on brown and coral Core'dinations card stock along with some DP from American Craft. The circles were of course cut out with my nesties. To create the pot of flowers, I stamped the shamrock from Blarney Stone by SUInk and More several times to create a group of flowers. The pot the flowers are sitting in is a masked off pot of gold also from the Blarney Stone set. I colored all of my images in with my copics and then placed rhinestones in the middle of each flower. To finish the card, I tied a coral colored ribbon around the middle and then stamped the sentiment on white card stock in brown ink and popped it off the bottom. I really like this elegant take on a St. Patty's Day Card.
My second card for today is for tonight's My Favorite Things release party. The party starts at 9 EST tonight so don't miss it! Also my blog candy for the new Bling' Bet set is still going on so make sure you scroll down to this post to enter! For this card, I wanted to showcase how you could use the Bling' Bet set along with the new Digital Girl set together! I used this week's MFT sketch for the layout.
I really think Jason will love it seeing as how he is a computer programmer! I started this card by stamping the main image from Digital Girl by MFT on white card stock and colored her in using my copics. I then mounted her on black and red card stock. Following the sketch, I layered on red and black card stock along with some Valentine's DP from K and Company. I cut out the black and red heart using my Cricut machine and then stamped the sentiment in black ink in the middle. I tied a black and white polka dot ribbon along the bottom and the added my "www" sentiment. I created it by stamping the letter "W" from the Bling' Bet set three times in black ink on some white card stock, cut them out, mounted them on red and black and then placed rhinestones in the circles. I just love the glitter and romantic colors!
So that is it for me today! Don't forget that the Pink Cat Studio challenge is still going on in the PCP forum and a grab bag of Pink Cat stamps is up for grabs! Thanks as always for stopping by!
