Happy Thursday everyone!
Boy is this week flying by! I guess it is because it has been such a crazy one! But usually if they are crazy weeks they are also fun ones and this one has certainly been that!
Well, Izzy was a little grumpy yesterday. That tends to happen when she goes to bed late. It is so strange. You would think that since she went to bed later that she would sleep in. Nope, never happens. She actually usually wakes up even earlier! So that is of course what happened yesterday and then she didn't want to take a nap. She laid in her bed and talked to herself for what seemed like forever! Then she finally went to sleep and woke up just in time for Daddy to come home! She of course was a perfect child the rest of the night. Isn't that always the way! LOL! Oh and I have a really cute story and picture to share with you tomorrow so stay tuned!
Okay, so how many of you had a wonderful time last night at the MFT release party? Wasn't it the best? I just loved it and enjoyed seeing everyone's awesome creations. It was moving so fast though that I had a hard time keeping up! I had to go back after the party, to really study all of the amazing projects the DT came up with!
Since I had such a great time last night at the party, I wanted to share with you a couple of the projects I whipped up for last night's release. And guess what? I didn't use a sketch on either one!!! Are you gasping? Do you need help off the floor? Trust me, I was shocked too! I almost had to call Madelynn of Twinkling Tuesday fame for a layout! LOL!
My first card uses the new Digital Girl set available now at MFT as my main image. I really wanted to create a project that showcased how wonderful the MFT images are for paper piecing.
See what I mean? They just scream, "Paper piece me!" It is one of my favorite techniques with my Who's that Girl sets. So I started this card off by stamping Digital Girl by MFT on white card stock along with 3 different sheets of SEI DP. I then colored my image in with my copics and paper pieced the rest. To create the rest of the card, I layered on blue and black card stock along with some DP, then added some black ribbon and stars I cut out with my Cricut. I decided to add some rhinestone stickers to sparkle it up! Then I stamped my sentiment, cut it out and popped it off the background. I really, really like this color combo. I think I am going to use it again.
My second card for last night's release used the new Bling' Bet set. I wanted to showcase how easy it is to use the letters to make a card. Well, alright, I really wanted to make a card about shopping! LOL!
See how perfect they are for card making too! I did have to make this card a little longer to accommodate the stars, but it really works! I started this card by stamping the word, "Shop" using the Bling' Bet set by MFT on white card stock and then filled in the holes with some rhinestones and colored them in with my copics. I popped them off some maroon and black stars I cut out with my Cricut machine. Next, I layered them on some fun pink shopping paper, and added some black ribbon with some striped paper. At the bottom of my card, I stamped the two purses from Tote-ally Fantastic and the shoe from Window Shopping on white card stock and colored the in using my copics. I finished the card off by popping them off the background. I just really think one of my girlfriends will love this!
Well, that is it for me today! Off to catch up on all the stuff I missed yesterday! Hope you have a wonderful day and thanks as always for stopping by!
