Can I Get a Whoop! Whoop! I Made a Non-Christmas Card ...
Happy Tuesday everyone!
Only a couple more days until Thanksgiving! I have noticed though that a few of the neighbors have started to decorate their houses for Christmas. My parents already have their tree up and they are putting my sister's up today. I haven't even thought about it yet. I guess that we will probably do it next weekend, that is usually what we do it. I wonder what Izzy will think about it. Last year she really didn't pay attention to it, so who knows what will happen this year.
Well, I think we are going to try to head to the library this afternoon. I am getting a little tired of some of her books, so it will be nice to pick up a few new ones. Izzy loves to go. She really enjoys the little book rack that she is allowed to pick up books from. Hopefully that will put her in a little better mood. She has been a little grouchy today.
So let's get on with it! My cards that is and one of them is not a Christmas one! Who's proud of me?!!
My first card for today is a card I created for my niece using Paper Take Weekly's Sketch Challenge. This was a really fun sketch. It had so many layers and my niece loves purple so I knew that this would be perfect for her.
Isn't she sweet!!! She really reminds me of Kelsey. I started this card off by stamping Pickin' Apples by Sugar Nellie on white card stock and coloring her in with my copics and stampin' writer markers. I then added some white gel pen to highlight the apples. Using the sketch as a guide I layered on dp, green card stock, teal card stock and purple card stock. I popped off the main image and added some purple rick rack and flowers that I cut out with my Cricut machine. I placed teal brads in the center of the flowers. For the sentiment, printed it off on the computer and then adhered it to a piece of purple card stock that I used my corner rounder on. I just think this is the most precious image.
Alright, alright, the next two cards are Christmas cards. But I have a good excuse. I am not only making my Christmas cards, but also some for my mom and my friends. So see, I need quite a few. That's my story and I am sticking to it.
My next card is a card I created using the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge over at Poetic Artistry. I always love these sketch challenges because they are so creative and different.
Now on to my final card for today. This one is just so elegant. I love this little image. It reminds me of when I was a kid. I used to have a faux, white rabbit fur muff that I would wear everywhere. It always made me feel so grown up and sophisticated. For this card I used this week's challenge over at A Spoon Full of Sugar which was a sketch.
Well I need to go get ready for the library. I think we single handily pay the librarians' salaries with all the fines we pay for over due books. Have a great rest of the day! Thanks for stopping by!

Things I Love!
For this week's Magnolia Vs. Stampavie Challenge, the theme was "Get The Feeling". You were supposed to incorporate texture into your work. Well, I haven't used this stamp in awhile and it reminds me of Jason and I. (I know Jason isn't blond, but I wanted a contrasting hair color, okay! lol!)
I just love their little faces. He looks so nervous! Well for my texture on this card, I decided to create grass out of cut up card stock. I then embossed some of my paper with my cuttlebug swirl folder and added some fabric flowers. I started this card by stamping Lily & Milo - First Love by Rachelle Anne Miller for Stampavie on white card stock and coloring them in with my copics and markers. I added highlights with my gel pen. I then adhered my grass and layered the image on red/orange card stock and lime green card stock. I then layered on card stock and DP to create the card. I wrapped around a piece of blue ribbon and added some flowers with a brown brad in the middle. To balance the card out, I added three blue brads to the corner. I really like how this card turned out. I love all the happy colors and the image is just so cute.
Well, my theme for today has been things I love; shopping, my husband and last but not least I love the snow and winter. I don't actually like being out in the snow, but I love to look at it. I think it just makes everything look so clean and new. When I saw Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge over at Technostamper, I knew the perfect stamp to use.
Doesn't it look like fun!!! I wish I could be on their sled with them!! Anywhoo, I started this card off by stamping Lily and Billy on Sled from Lily and Billy Winter Stamps by Pink Cat Studio on a piece of white card stock. I colored them in with my copics and markers. I then masked them off and used a sponging technique that I adapted from Michelle over at Just Painting Around to create the snow drifts. I ripped a piece of paper and sponged on bashful blue and ballet blue. I then went over the lines with a gray marker and some glitter. I drew in the trees and accented them with my white gel pen. I cut out my image along with a piece of green card stock and a piece of red card stock using my nesties. Following the sketch, I layered on red and blue card stock along with DP. I tied a bow around the bottom and added a snowflake button. To finish the card, I cut out three circles of red, green and blue card stock using my nesties and added two swirls and a snowflake. I really like how this turned out. I am definitely going to have to use this technique again.
Well thanks for stopping by today!! It has been really exciting for me. Thanks for all you wonderful comments and have a great evening!!

Birthdays, Baseball and Beauty!
I'm not going to complain too much because I was able to take a nap and stamp! Yeah!! Izzy has been playing with Daddy most of the day. I have had the radio on, so she has been dancing up a storm. She was able to go outside for about five minutes, but then she grumped the whole time so we came back in. I guess she isn't used to the cold either.
